Return to question A16

16. What I disliked most about the movie (Unabridged)

Dr. Smith's monster portrayal

the visage and character of Will Robinson in the future

Too Many FX

the script

the blawp, robots were not used enough, space spiders were silly , John Robinson was a wimp

The lack of a strong plot.

Absence of Jonathan Harris' voice in it

Dr Smith as a giant spider

the time bubble plot

The ending dealing with Time Travel and the design and computer rendering of (Blawp?).

the blue robot.

Total disregard for classic icons and story line already well established of the past almost 30 years and the poor sound track.

wrong actors

The look of sets, hardware, costumes

the blawrp creature (too cute), illogical hypergate story

the script

Robinsons discovering truth about Smith

Jonathan Harris & Bill Mumy were not in it

It changed too much from the original series

It did not have the original Jupiter 2, robot, or cast

Way to busy & dizzy, it was hard to feel the Drama. The music was could have helped here, but it was not John Williams. Roger Ebert had a good line, I believe he referred to the movie as a waste of space, and wanting to clean the screen, it was smudgy ??

the techno music over end credits

Annoying Blawp! The CGI was not convincing!

too dark/moody in places

Poor Technobabble, unbelievable plot and action.

Too much CGI, Blawp, & future Smith.

music score

The directing; I felt it could have been more . . . human in its characterizations, esp. John and Don; the male figures in this movie were not well represented; good actors, but I think bad directing.

too much emphasis on special effects

disfiguring of the Robot

sabotage of original hardware, music and characters

some of the music

Blawp

The looks of the J-1 & 2, the Robot!

Such small cameo appearances of original actors including not having B.M and J.H included.

design of the Jupiter 2

the Blarp

the special effects overshadowed the story

It seem a little dark

the confusing lineage of the Robot, and the fact that the movie ended with 2 (or is it one and a half?) Robots.

Cameos by original LIS cast members too short.

John Robinsons lack of development.

Deletion of scenes in latter part of film

Akiva Goldsman KILLED Batman, and damn near did the same to LIS, This guy is a lousy writer, and should not be allowed within ten miles of anything LIS related.

music was a real turn-off

No respect for the classic series

That J Harris did not appear

The movie didn't resemble the tv show in the least.

Robot, Jupiter 2, Weak John Robinson

I Liked the old Jupiter Two Better.

soundtrack

It lacked the essential elements of the original series.

lack of a "classic LIS" feel/should have made bigger roles for the original stars

that is was called "Lost in Space."

The character Penny and the way she was portrayed as a whining little brat who kept a personal video log. Her character needs to mature more to ad to the drama of the movie.

Spider Smith

Confusing story line-time bubble, music

too "busy"; I got lost to where the plot went at times.

penny's character was too annoying

too fast pace, too many special effects, the J2, robot

From the time bubble forward to the end of the film.

Don West's character (or utter lack of)

Blawrp and penny's grating voice

Spider Smith

Bwalp or whatever that yellow thing was

I liked how they incorporated some of Dr. Smith's famous lines "Never fear, Smith is here" and the alliteratives to the robot. I didn't like how the Robinsons were introduced as a dysfunctional family, when in the series they were most definitely not.

The Hyper-Gate system idea and the Jupiter 2 getting that close to the sun

The Blawp was

Too dark, WANT BACK THE SAUCER, not enough LIKE THE TV SHOW.

Bill Mumy should have been the adult Will

Blawp

There were so many special effects, that they got in the way of the plot.

William Hurt

Four hours of story in two hours of film.

The new Jupiter 2

campiness

Hurt as John Robinson. Also, we don't need "Dysfunctional family in space." The characters need to be a bit closer to their original counterparts (except Dr. Smith--Oldman is just fine as is!).

YOU MADE JOHN ROBINSON INTO SOMETHING THAT HE WASN'T

The one liners that were supposed to be funny.

would have liked to know more about smiths background and how he got coerced.

They disregarded the fan's love of the original Jupiter 2 and characters

Too Dark

Bickering parents, Blawrp, robot #2, had to escape gravity too many times by going through something

story

not lost in space

That silly creature they found. Scrap it. The plot on the planet they crashed on and Professor Robinson with a beard.

The Blawp

That "blarq" thing; J.Harris not as Dr. Smith

should have had more of the original cast and robot

gary oldman's dr smith

music, character development

The casting

Not seeing Bill Mumy or J.Harris

will in the future

Could have tied up the time travel sequence at he end. Lots of loose ends.

Script should have been better, larger parts for original actors.

battle robot

the blawp, the overdone time-travel plot, the uneven pacing (a little too slow to get going, too choppy at the end)

Too fast of editing of launch sequence and some other scenes and absence of the Bill Mumy as older Will and spot for Jonathan Harris.

Script or lack of

The very beginning

not using Billy Mumy

Jupiter 2 and Robot redesign ( if it ain't broke...)

not all originals brought back

Dysfunctional family; Time plot too complex

new ship and robot

It wasn't Lost in Space

Changing the J2 Shape and Time Bubbles Storyline.

Way too much campiness and lot of action which didn't mix too well so quickly. A really good rollercoaster ride is good when it is built up to, then,"unexpectedly", let's you ...GO!

portrait of a dysfunctional family

lousy script

Plot; Prof. Robinson; Penny;

The "Blawp" CGI was cartoonish and didn't work. Too bad it couldn't be cut from the film altogether.

the plot is fairly weak...needs a little, more dramatic
